Each
year the United Kingdom is visited by a number of holy men from India
who come to teach the Hindu messages of truth, yoga, meditation and tolerance.
Whilst this stream of knowledge from the India has found a ready audience
amongst both the indigenous people and those of Indian origin, enabling
them to have a spiritual connection despite living so far away from their
spiritual homeland.
However amongst this stream of selfless workers and myriads of Swamis and Gurus there is the occasional figure which casts a shadow of apprehension.
One of these figures has come to the attention of HHR and about whom we have received numerous emails and letters of complaint about. Accordingly we sent an investigator to look into this further. This self styled guru is known as 'BhrahmRishi Shree Kumar Swami Ji of the Bhagwan Shree Lakshmi Narayan Dham', whose lectures can be seen occasionally of the MATV channel which is aired on satellite.
BhrahmRishi Shree Kumar Swami Ji of the Bhagwan Shree Lakshmi Narayan Dham claims that he spent many years with untold Gurus, Rishis and Swamis in the Himalayas, from whom he was granted the power of mantras known as 'Beej' mantras. According to him, a meeting with him can resolve any emotional, financial, educational or physical issue one may have. And this would through the use of a personalised mantra that he would bestow upon you. But unlike the majority of Hindu holy men these mantras are not free. To begin with one may purchase a one-to-one meeting with the guru for a fee of £54, where you would be given your personalised mantra to cure your problem.
But apparently the effects of this personalised mantra, which has just cost you £54, are only effective if you chant an additional "password mantra" before your personal mantra. And this password mantra which changes on a monthly basis depending on the "guruji's inspiration from the Gods and Goddesses", can be obtained by subscribing to his monthly magazine which will set you back a further £27.
But if anyone thought that £54 plus £27 was a low price to pay for peace of mind and the solution to your life's problems then you would be right. "Devotees" are periodically told by the workers of this self styled Guru that they would required to do special pujas at BhrahmRishi Shree Kumar Swami Ji's ashram which would cost further £400. Other are told that they would require special Ayurvedic medicine costing £300 per course, which again can only be purchased from BhrahmRishi Shree Kumar Swami Ji's ashram. Other "remedies" are sold to other people, all of whom involve spending significant sums of money on items and services which obviously only the "Guruji's" ashram can provide.
A small number of charlatans and swindlers such as these who go around pretending to be Hindu holy-men have tarnished the image of true Gurus and Swamis who are selflessly work towards helping Hindu Dharma
HHR calls upon all Hindus to learn their own religion, culture and spirituality so that they able to develop the necessary faculties and ability to detect such frauds and not be swayed by the ochre garbs that these swindlers clothe themselves in or the religious vernacular that they adopt to attract and exploit the vulnerable.
